Liz Pursley Selected For Institute for Energy Law’s 8th Leadership Class
Hicks Johnson PLLC is pleased to announce that Senior Associate Liz Pursley has been selected for the Institute for Energy Law’s (IEL) 8th Leadership Class. This prestigious program provides professional development for early-career professionals in the energy field, including attorneys, consultants, and accountants. Participants build their knowledge of leadership, communication, and diversity in the industry, and establish fruitful professional bonds with their fellow class members and IEL leaders.
Liz focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She has handled a variety of work for energy industry participants, including contract disputes, mineral and royalties disagreements, and business torts. Additionally, Liz has experience handling decommissioning-related liabilities. In these matters, operators turn to Liz for guidance throughout the life cycle of the project, from planning and strategy to negotiating with the government and enforcing their rights through litigation. Liz has represented clients in various state courts, federal courts, before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and in U.S. Department of the Interior proceedings. Earlier in her career, Liz co-authored several publications for the IEL.
“Liz is an excellent fit for the IEL’s Leadership Class,” said Partner Persis Dean. “Her fellow class members will benefit from Liz’s significant energy industry experience, and we look forward to the deepened industry knowledge Liz will develop and bring to her work for our clients.”
