Law360 Names Hicks Johnson Texas Regional Powerhouse
We are proud to announce that in recognition of Hicks Johnson’s significant achievements over the past year, Law360 has selected our firm for the outlet’s prestigious Texas Regional Powerhouses list.
The Regional Powerhouses recognition honors firms with a strong regional focus that take on and win high-profile cases and make a lasting impact on their practice area. Our recent publishable noteworthy matters in Texas include:
- Obtaining a complete dismissal of breach of contract claims for our client Collins Aerospace in a matter involving a teaming agreement with Bastion Technologies Inc., which the two entities entered in pursuit of a contract with NASA for the design and development of NASA’s next-generation spacesuit.
- Representing the City of Houston in ongoing litigation involving a $1.8 billion critical infrastructure project related to a massive expansion of the City’s northwest water treatment plant; the plaintiff is Houston Waterworks Team, a joint venture between two of the largest engineering and construction services firms in the world.
- Representing Trailstone Energy Marketing LLC in its ongoing suit against ConocoPhillips for breach of contract after COP declared force majeure, claiming that the events of February 2021 Winter Storm Uri in Texas, which directly impacted Houston and surrounding areas, prevented it from fulfilling a firm commitment to deliver natural gas to Trailstone.
- Representing specialty construction contractor FL Crane & Sons in an ongoing complex construction dispute that involves over a dozen parties and one of the largest construction projects in the state of Texas — Apple’s new $1 billion campus in Austin.
- Representing 61 Texas vineyards in a products liability action against Monsanto (now Bayer) and BASF centering on the companies’ development and sale of a dicamba (herbicide)-resistant seed system, which has caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage to vineyards. The first bellwether trials are expected to commence in 2026.
The Regional Powerhouses win comes on the heels of news that Chambers and Partners once again ranked Hicks Johnson for Litigation: General Commercial, Texas: Houston & Surrounds. Since 2022, the firm has advanced two bands in this practice-area category. Managing partner Andy Hicks and founding partner Logan Johnson were also ranked among the top lawyers in this market.
Since Hicks Johnson was founded in 2007, our team has remained focused on bringing best-in-class trial talent to bear on complex disputes — and consistently delivering client successes. We are grateful to receive these legal industry accolades because they highlight how our work resolves the challenges our clients face and supports them in achieving their most important commercial objectives.
